LEAD TEACHER, 1 & 2 YEAR OLDS (20-30 MONTH)

LaToya is from a small town, Opelousas, Louisiana and has been in childcare for 13 years now. Her passion for working with children developed at a young age being surrounded by several nieces and nephews. Caring for them gave her motivation to pursue a career in early childhood education. She earned a technical diploma in care and development of young children from South Louisiana community college in Lafayette, La.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LaToya spent 3 years as a teacher’s assistant in a head start setting. LaToya then relocated to Houston Tx, attended Houston Montessori Center and became a certified toddler montessori teacher. She had the wonderful opportunity to work at a montessori school for 9 1\/2 years as the toddler lead teacher. Missing home, she moved back to Louisiana where she became part of the BTA family. LaToya strives to create a safe, supportive, creative space to nourish the children of our diverse community here in New Orleans.
